A great photo depicting some of the services servicemen do–helping people. Look at that little (boy?)admiring his new kicks! That says it all. I recall as a kid running around most of the summer barefooted, but I did have shoes that mama made me wear when she could. I relate that kind of pride and excitement wearing my new pair of US Keds at the end of summer–all set for school.

Yes, I am a proud father of three. The Al Dora teddy bears and shoe mission has been, by far, the one mission that has affected me the most. To me, this is what our mission is all about; reaching out to the next generation to make sure they have everything they need for a free and successful future. It broke my heart that those kids did not even have shoes on their feet before we arrived. Sometimes all it takes is a pair of shoes, so these kids can put their best foot forward…….
