Political Ads Show Soldiers Being Blown Up
And their not jihadist ads either! There’s a lot of talk about the RNC and DNC arguing over a recent anti-McCain ad. I don’t care that candidates are attacking each other. What I DO care about is when either party uses video of troops being targeted in an IED attack for political purposes. Not ONE of those hotheaded, ignorant politicians sitting in Congress know anything about the trauma caused by such an explosion – both to those involved and those related or associated with them!
I completely denounce this Al-Qaeda-type use of anti-war propaganda at the expense of the troops over there dealing with these issues on a daily basis. On the bright side, the DNC just saved AQ some money in their video propaganda production budget with this video. I hope the creators are happy with themselves and remove and apologize for this video immediately. The political parties in this country can tear themselves apart all they want. Leave the troops out of it!

disgusting but not surprising considering the source.

How sad that the DNC would stoop so low. If they spin and distort this badly before winning, can you imagine how dishonest they will be if they DO win?
David
With all due respect, the spin happens on both sides. I personally think showing soldiers being blown up for political gain is disgusting. That said, the same party that declared major combat operations over several years ago recently added that he’d be fine if it went on for 100 years. To keep it in proper context he went on to say %u201CAs long as Americans are not being injured or harmed or wounded or killed, that%u2019d be fine with me, and I hope it would be fine with you, if we maintain a presence in a very volatile part of the world where al-Qaida is training, recruiting, equipping and motivating people every single day.%u201D
This induces the question of what would happen if they were killing our troops?

David, no one said that it didn’t happen on both sides. Soldiers and what happens to them in battle should not be fodder for political adds. It’s the DNC’s turn to have their feet in the fire for this one.
David
Sue,
Agreed, it was a cheap shot, regardless.

CJ
I would attack any Republican or RNC ad the exact same way I did this one. It’s wrong for ANY political campaign.
Terri
How utterly low and disgusting. As CJ said, they can tear each other apart all they want, but they need to leave our Troops out of it. I’m disgusted by this ad, as I’m sure everyone else is.
Donna
As everyone has said, this is a disgusting video and I deplore the use of it for political gain or for any other purpose. This is as low as they can get to use our troops this way!
