Last summer, NRA Life of Duty presented by Brownells produced a four-part series on the men of Airborne SF Alpha (ODA) 574 – based off of the book The Only Thing Worth Dying For by Eric Blehm. Today, they released an emotional interview with Sherry Magallanes – wife of former ODA 574 Sr. Intelligence Sgt. MSG Gilbert “Mag” Magallanes – who relives the dreaded phone call informing her that Magallanes (her then fiancé) had been severely wounded in combat. Sherry also speaks to the challenges that “military girlfriends” are faced with, as they are not provided with the same amount of Intel and visitation privileges as spouses and family members.
