To Disarm Is To Enslave

I touched on this a bit on my private Facebook page and I wanted to get these thoughts out there in the world as well following the Colorado shooting the clockwork-like calls for gun control streaming from the ignorant masses out there.

I’ve been arguing with gun grabbing, liberal morons for a few days about this whole Colorado shooting. I’m pretty sure there has been a talking points memo sent out via Brady Campaign or some other ignorant association attempting to turn the nation into a nation of disarmed slaves. The common challenge is, “I would like someone to point out to me one or more cases where an average civilian – someone not current or former military, police, or trained security professional – with a concealed or non-concealed weapon was able to disarm or in any way stop a shooter in a public space, not a home invasion.” Of course, the target shifts when you provide proof.

For example, when you provide proof of a home invasion repelled through armed resistance, they want you to leave that out because not enough people were involved. When you provide a story of personal armed resistance in public, they want you to point to someone not yourself. When you provide proof of someone not yourself in [insert location] they want that excluded. The goal keeps getting moved until they can say, “SEE! I told you you can’t back up your theory!”

In each instance, these people claim that if you can show “just one” piece of evidence that an armed populace is a good thing to have around “maybe” you’ll change their minds.

So, to all of you also out there fighting the good fight, I offer you some recent stories from just the past few months (among the myriad others I’ve found).

Last March, in Boiling Springs, PA, 26-year old pastor’s son Aaron Guyton used his gun to hold a shotgun wielding maniac at by until police arrived after he busted through a side door. The criminal pointed his shotgun at Reverend Henry Guyton and the congregation. Numerous members of the congregation had weapons, along with Aaron, and acted quickly. Guyton held him at gunpoint while other “dangerously armed” churchgoers held him down. Did all these armed people cause a circular firestorm? No. Contrary to what the liberal gun grabbers would have you believe, most armed citizens don’t just namby pamby-like fire weapons hoping to hit something important.

About a week ago, a pizza delivery driver warned two young males approaching menacingly to stay away. There had already been several robberies of pizza delivery drivers. The men continued to approach and the driver pulled out a gun. Fearing for his life after warning the would-be thieves, the driver shot both suspects. 20-year old positive role model Cortez Bradley was shot and transported to a hospital while his 16-year protege was shot twice and fled. Both men are in custody. No word of the race of the suspects and whether they were wearing hoodies (BA DUM BUM, PSH!).

Mangal and Kulbier Singh were tending to the Four Oaks Market convenience store in Del Paso, Calif. when two masked and armed men entered the store. One of the criminals grabbed Kulbier, put a gun to his head and dragged him down an aisle, while the other demanded money from Mangal. Mangal responded to the robbery by retrieving a revolver and firing it at his attacker, causing him to flee. At the same time, Kulbier fought off his attacker and wrested control of the gun away from him. The Singh brothers then held the remaining robber until police could arrive.

A Vallejo man carrying a legal concealed weapon halted a reported robbery in progress at 6 p.m. Sunday at the Subway sandwich restaurant in the 600 block of Lewis Brown Road, Sgt. Jeff Bassett said. Bassett said a suspect entered the restaurant and ordered a sandwich, and when the clerk was finished with it, he brandished a knife and demanded cash. Meanwhile, the man, described as a 25-year-old Vallejoan with a permit for a concealed weapon, drew his gun and confronted the suspect who ran out of the restaurant before he was able to take anything, Bassett said. The suspect is described as a black man, 60, with long black hair who was wearing black clothing.

Vance T. Taylor of Idaho Falls has been charged with unlawful entry and malicious injury to property, both misdemeanors, the Bonneville Prosecutor’s Office said Friday. Taylor is also dealing with two .22 caliber gunshot wounds to the leg after he was shot in a home on the 400 block of Lincoln Drive in Idaho Falls.

A crazed man entered a Smith’s grocery store in Salt Lake City, Utah, purchased a knife, exited the store and began stabbing nearby customers while yelling “you killed my people.” The criminal viciously attacked two patrons before a man with a Right-to-Carry permit arrived on the scene, drew his gun and ordered the attacker to drop the knife. The criminal complied, which allowed other bystanders to subdue the attacker until police could arrive. Salt Lake City Police have hailed the armed citizen as a hero who likely saved lives, with Lt. Brian Purvis noting, “This was a volatile situation that could have gotten worse. We can only assume from what we saw it could have gotten worse. He was definitely in the right place at the right time.” An investigation revealed that the knife-wielding man has a lengthy criminal record with convictions for criminal trespass, attempted aggravated assault, attempted aggravated assault on a police officer and sexual battery and lewdness. The attacker’s latest stint in jail occurred less than a week before the rampage, after he was arrested for joyriding and possessing false identification.

These stories are everywhere. And in each instance it was an average, every day citizens that thwarted or prevented more injuries and deaths. I didn’t even include the overwhelming number of stories of citizens protecting their own homes.

George Mason once said, “To disarm the people is the best and most effectual way to enslave them.” Do not commit yourself to voluntary servitude by supporting efforts to take away your right to keep and bear arms.

  1. I am with you brother. There isn’t one law abiding citizen who has done these acts. Another gun control law wouldn’t have prevented this period.
